It may make its debut sometime going forward, but for now, the new CDL playlist coming in Season 2 will be the closest thing players get to a more competitive experience.
Unfortunately, there has been no official word from Infinity Ward regarding Ranked Play ever being added to the title in the future. It will only be a playlist that uses the ruleset professional teams use when competing in the global esports league. However, this CDL playlist will not entail the ability for players to grind away and reach various ranks showing off how skilled they are. There are 70 ranks, each requiring more XP than the previous ones to rank up. The game releases for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on October 25.The status of Ranked Play has reignited with the recent revelations in the Season 2 roadmap for the game that announced a Call of Duty League playlist was coming to Modern Warfare. In multiplayer game level, the following is a list of the rank and XP in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the unlockables earned at each level, and the experience needed to advance to each level. Weapons will also have, on average, 50 attachments to unlock, so there's a whole bunch of stuff to earn in Modern Warfare. You'll also be able to earn XP for 'Challenge Missions', multi-step objectives that are accessed and activated in the Barracks menu. Getting through all 100 levels in a season unlocks a weapon blueprint and an animated emblem. You also get Officer Challenges as you level up, though, and you earn more XP through completing them, which gives you seasons ribbons that can be exchanged for seasonal emblems. Going through the Officer Ranks is a lot like going through the Enlisted Ranks, in that you do it by earning XP.
Once you hit the 55th rank - Command Sergeant Major V - you'll arrive at Officer Rank 1, which will give you 100 new rankings to progress through per season. The usual 1-55 levels are your 'Enlisted Ranks', but the Seasonal Officer Ranks are what you'll be pumping your XP into once you hit 55. The new system is designed to give players more rewards, and to keep them satisfied and leveling up without needing to reset.
